day 7 scissors Xing to mi 95

Everything is great! Camping at some sweet little sites near mile 95. Looking forward to cleaning my grunge in Ysidero creek in the noon sun tomorrow. We will zero in Warner Springs sat day and nite. I’m about out of cell battery but can still update the “track me” locator. Desert in bloom was beyond amazing today hiking north from scissors crossing.

17 miles. great day! Not very hot. gorgeous climb into San Felipe Mountains- desert all abloom like ive never seen! sudden barrel cactus, Ocatilllo with red tipped blooms! saw a solo woman hiker while we were still in Camp at Scissors. very windy on exposed ridges but stunning pretty much all day. a slow climb easy on the feet. I’m nursing the same blisters all is okay. Banged out 9 miles to just passed the first gate for a break. Annies handling the miles great. My lunch was tuna tortillas and cheddar bunnies, took a shorter break at water cash at third gate huge water cache brought in by trail angels- THANK YOU!!
Read the trail register there- spitfire in March, Chemical burn, monkey is only three days ahead. sometimes I don’t snack enough and I lose power annie found our campsite at mile 95 after 17 mile day plenty of daylight left yay I had Ramen with veggies farm and hot sauce. Annie and half mile texted, he and Deb should be camping here too but we haven’t seen them. tomorrow only 10 miles to Ysidero spring and good swimming. we stink and are dirty !!!! looking forward to spending all afternoon There- planning to arrive a.m. Saturday in Warner Springs for a zero and hotel and hot springs oh boy!

Glad you guys are doing well. Hope the winds stay just breezy (not gale force), your battery charger arrives, and you don’t get off that PCT too many times a day! 🙂
